We're screening 'The Apartment' on Saturday 31st January at 6.30pm in the Blackpool Community, 90 Great William O'Brien Street, Cork.
Billy Wilder's The Apartment (1960) is a big-city satire with a romantic heart of gold. Jack Lemmon plays CC Baxter, a nerdy, naïve, good-natured salaryman in a Manhattan insurance office. He's been bullied into letting sleazy married executives use his bachelor apartment after work to entertain their girlfriends; the chief offender is conceited personnel chief Mr. Sheldrake (Fred MacMurray). Although he often has to deal with the aftermath of their visits, one night he’s left with a major problem to solve.
