Comic Book Workshops

This project kicks off on Saturday 24th October and brings parents and children together to explore literacy through art, storytelling and comic book making. Our workshops are a relaxed, creative space where families can build confidence with reading and writing through talking, listening, drawing and making. Rather than focusing on what people find difficult, we use creativity to help everyone find their own way of expressing ideas and telling stories. Together, participants will create characters, develop stories, explore how comics work and build their own visual language. Along the way, they’ll develop communication and literacy skills while having fun and working alongside others.
The workshops will lead to the creation of a collaborative comic book, giving everyone the chance to contribute their ideas and see their work brought to life.We believe comics are a brilliant way into literacy because they bring words and pictures together. By making, sharing and telling stories, families can develop new skills, build confidence and, most importantly, enjoy creating something together.
The workshops start on Saturday 24th October and run from 12pm - 2pm. All workshops are free and adults must attend. If you're interested, please fill out the form below and send it in as spaces are limited. Any questions please call on 021 455 3747
