Samhain Decoration WorkshopsCork Community Art Link in partnership with Cork City Partnership, hosted 8 weeks of workshops in The Glen Community Gardens, in the lead up to The Dragon of Shandon on Friday 31st October. The Plant and Play support group for parents with Autistic kids foraged in the nearby park to make wreaths, recycled waste materials to create masks and decorations, and made a garbage ghoul to scare away the crows. The season was celebrated on the last day of the workshops, with a party and traditional Halloween games

Dragon Tribe DIY KitsWe invited everyone to download one of our Dragon Tribe DIY Kits and make their own costume at home for the Dragon of Shandon Parade. The kits were designed by one of our fantastic artists with plenty of suggestions, links to mythological histories, information, how-to-make videos, and photographs in each booklet

Spooky Shandon StrollIn the week leading up to the Dragon of Shandon, Cork Community Art Link, in association with Cork City Council, produced a night time walking tour of Shandon. The tour guide regaled the audience with a scary history of the area, and a local film maker produced a number of short ghostly films projected onto the walls of Shandon. Even the residents got involved in making sure it was an experience no one would forget
