FAQS ●
Here are answers to some questions you may have. Feel free to call or email if you need more information.
What does hosting involve?Hosting could be as simple as offering a spare room, a couch, or another small sleeping space in your home for a short stay
How long might someone stay?Stays can vary depending on availability and needs, ranging from a couple of nights to a few weeks during October and the lead-up to the parade
Who might I be hosting?Visitors may include people who have been involved in previous years, as well as artists, parade crew, volunteers, trainees and performers. All participants are connected to Cork Community Art Link and are taking part in the parade project
Will I know who is coming to stay?Yes. Cork Community Art Link will introduce hosts and participants in advance and share basic information so both sides feel comfortable before confirming any arrangement
What if I can only host for a short time? That’s absolutely fine. Even offering a space for a few nights can make a real difference and we can work around different availability where possible
Will there be any financial contribution?Even though this initiative is based on community goodwill, Cork Community Art Link hopes to offer a small contribution towards household costs where possible. This will depend on available funding and will be discussed closer to the time
Are hosts expected to provide food? This can be decided on a one-to-one basis between host and participant. Some participants may share meals in the home, in which case arrangements around food and contributions can be agreed together. Others may be working long hours or prefer to eat out
Is this a rental arrangement? No. This is a short-term, community-based hosting initiative rather than a rental system
