last Saturday of every month

The Lido Cinema, originally opened in 1920 and held a unique place in the hearts of many local residents who fondly remember the laughter, joy, and stories that unfolded on its screen. While the cinema has been closed since 1965, it's legacy as a community gathering space endures. Now that Cork Community Art Link reside in the premises, we want to honour its history, while building a vibrant community hub that fosters connections, and enriches the lives of the area.

Over the next few months we'll be screening films in the Blackpool Community Centre on the last Saturday of every month and, in due course, will move the cinema into our own building.

Doors will open at 6pm and the show will begin at 6.30pm. Its free entry and tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. Our future programme will be determined by the audience and we'll do our best to accommodate everyone.
