FLOATS
float construction workshops ●
These collaborative workshops are open and free to anyone over the age of 18 who wants to design and make 1-2 small floats for a parade alongside our lead technician. The workshops will take participants through initial concept, including research and design, to construction and completion, including the animation of the float during the parade. Participants will learn how to construct the frame, using wood, metal, corry board, cardboard, plastics and papier mâché. They will also learn how to use hand tools, some electric tools, basic tool and workshop safety, and taught how to apply painting techniques and light kinetic movement to the final construction, with the last workshop touching on aspects of physical theatre and drama to increase their confidence in the parade. So, if you want to design and make a float from scratch and take part in a parade, then this workshop is just for you. Fill in the form below if you're interested, and we'll let you know when the next programme starts.
